- What is your staffing ratio?
We staff one RN/LVN and one C.N.A. to 4-5 children 24/7.
- Who will be my child's physician?
It will either be Subacute Saratoga Hospital Medical Director or Kaiser's HBS (Home Based Services) team/Physicians. MD is readily available on call 24/7.
- What kind of Insurance does Sub-Acute Saratoga Children’s Hospital accept?
We accept Medi-Cal and all private insurance.
- What are the visiting hours?
There are no restrictions to the visiting hours for families.
- If we want to have a family gathering or birthday party, can we do that at SASCH?
Yes, coordinate with Case Management and or The Activity Department.
- What happens in the case of a medical emergency?
Most of the emergencies are handled on site by the staff. If it is life threatening, 911 is called and the child is transferred to the nearest Acute hospital.
- What educational activities can I expect for my child?
Your child’s education will be arranged according to their age and ability.
- How can I admit my child into Subacute Saratoga Hospital?
You are being referred from an Acute Hospital, please contact your Case Manager/Social Worker. You may also contact us at 408.340.1501.
- Can I stay with my child?
Yes, we have a suite available that can be used for 1 – 3 days at a time.
- How often do I meet with the care team?
You will meet with the care team on admission, quarterly, and as needed.
